Seven sites have provided free measles shots to more than 1,600people in three days, city health officials said Wednesday.
Officials urged more people to take advantage of the free shots,which are part of an effort to combat the worst measles epidemic in10 years. It has claimed two lives.
On Wednesday, sound trucks began circulating in Hispanicneighborhoods to urge residents to have their children immunized.
Some 60 people in the South Side Robert Taylor Homes alsoreceived shots Monday from workers with vaccination kits, officialssaid. Another 50 received shots Tuesday in a similar effort on theNear West Side.
